It's August and the summer is entering the "dog days". It's getting hotter but you're still being pulled to have fun outside. Remember your sunscreen and to drink water. Those two items alone will help you fight off sunburns, premature aging, skin dehydration and "sun spots", those dark discolorations from sun damage, usually on the face, neck and hands.

How do I figure out what my skin type is?
There are 6 basic skin types, and you will likely fall into one of them.
- Dry- Skin feels tight and stretched and may be flaky regardless of environmental factors.
- Somewhat Dry- Skin feels tight and looks dry only in some circumstances, like winter.
- Normal- Skin does not have any problems with dryness or with oiliness. May have a bit of T-zone* oiliness coinciding with hormones.
- Somewhat Oily- Skin will have some shine by the end of the day, usually in the T-zone.*
- Oily- Skin is always shiny and feels oily to the touch regardless of environmental factors.
- Combination- Skin that exhibits some traits, like an oily T-zone*, along with others, like very dry cheeks, at the same time.
