The 411!, Issue #07 -- Go For The Green! March 01, 2010 |
| Hello, Welcome to The 411! Our skincare newsletter will update you every month with new additions to the website, interesting news articles or trends in skincare and of course, a great deal, coupon or giveaway. The 411= Information We give you "The 411 On Skincare"! Tip Of The Month Do you have the "Luck O' The Irish" when it comes to your skin? Well, most of us don't. But you don't need luck when you've got all the right information. So, this month, focus on green. Eating more green veggies (spinach, kale, broccoli, etc.), that is. Broccoli is full of antioxidants which fight off free radicals, which damage the elasticity of skin. Spinach and kale are full of iron which combat anemia. Anemia can leave you looking pale and increase dark circles under your eyes. Who knew green could be so good? Make Your Own DMAE Lift & Anti-Wrinkle Cream If you're looking to save money, or just have more control over what goes on your skin, check this great idea out. Based on Dr. Perricone's "Face Lift Diet", this recipe helps you recreate expensive lift cream results in your own home. What's New @ Skincare 411 We're still building the website to be the best resource possible. We have added: Bismuth Oxychloride In Mineral Makeup Customer Q & A Do You Have Any Spring Skincare Tips? I do! This is a great question. First, toss all your skincare products that have been gathering dust, exposed to light and heat, and smell or look funny. It's time to spring clean your skincare stash! You'll have much better results from your skincare if it's fresh and well within its expiration date. Secondly, you may notice a flare in your allergies due to the budding, blossoming and pollen flying in the air. If this causes your skin to turn red, swollen and your eyes to puff up, first visit the doctor for their recommendation. Applying a cool compress in the morning and evening will help soothe and calm your skin. Thirdly, you'll probably be spending more time outside, so even though I harp on wearing sunscreen daily it's time to really start focusing on making sunscreen part of your daily routine. Fourthly, you can likely pull back from the extra-emollient moisturizers of winter. In fact, those same moisturizers that get you through the winter without dry, flaky skin may well cause breakouts during the warmer months. Finally, keep an eye on your skin. If it's having problems adjusting to the new routine or products, introduce each slowly, for several days, until your skin becomes accustomed to it. Now, go out and enjoy Spring!!
