How Do I Introduce A New Product Into My Skincare Regimen?
This is such a good question! Sometimes bringing a new product on board can leave our skin breaking out and irritated, which we assume means the new product isn’t working. We toss it and move on.
Not so fast!
Here are some general guidelines to make the transition as smooth as possible, giving you the best results possible…
Alternate Days: For the first week use your new product on alternating days. If there are no adverse reactions, begin using it daily.
One At At Time: Only add one new product each day. This gives your skin time to adjust. If you’ve bought a range of products, it will take 4 or 5 days to start using them all.
Use Once A Day: For the first few days, even the first week, if your new product is to be used twice a day, only use it once. Use your old product the other time.
Sensitive Skin? Nothing beats a skin patch test to see if you’ll have any adverse reactions.
If your skin is still having reactions after slowing phasing in your new routine, it’s likely these products are not for you. Move on to something else.
